Johan Linton, Swedish architecture and the Italian tradition
This project aims at contributing to the knowledge about the significance of the Italian architectural tradition for Swedish architecture. It follows different paths:
- The Italian architecture, and not the least Roman baroque architecture, as it is related to the work of Jan Wallinder (1915-2006), collaborator of Erik Gunnar Asplund (1885-1940) and Professor at the School of architecture at Chalmers between 1959 and 1980.
- The Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa's (1906-1978) work and its influence in Sweden.
- The renaissance architect Andrea Palladio’s presence in Swedish architecture and architectural thought.
